Inaugurated in 2007,the China Cup International Regatta(CCIR)was officially listed on the race calendar of the International Sailing Federation(ISAF)in 2010 and won the“Best Asian Regatta”five times.In 2015,the ISAF awarded the“Special Award of Promoting Sailing Sports”to CCIR.In 2016,the 10th CCIR attracted 138 racing teams from 38 countries and regions on five continents,with more than 1,500 players participating.In the past decade of the CCIR,about 200 media and 1,000 media reporters have conducted on-site reports of the event,including international authoritative mainstream media such as CNN,BBC,ESPN,Reuters,Singapore-based Lianhe Zaobao,CCTV and Xinhua News Agency,which all paid continuous attention to the CCIR.It is precisely due to the concentration of media attention at home and abroad that the CCIR has grown into the most influential international sailing event in Asia after ten years of its inception.

From November 8 to November 12,2018,the 12th CCIR was held in Daya Bay,Shenzhen.Nearly 200 fleets with more than 1,600 players from over 30 countries and regions witnessed the"Strongest Championship Year"of the CCIR.This is the 12th year of the CIIR and the 11th consecutive year of the participation of Beijing Sailing Center(BSC).As the original international competition brand in China,the CIIR has reached a record high on competition scale again this year.The competition schedule was first adjusted to November,and the competition period was increased from four days to five days,demonstrating its first attempt to shift from“nearshore competition”to“offshore competition”in the second ten-year development plan.

As the Chinese players of the BSC,Fan Chao and Wang Mingtao,partners of Gaopeng&Partners,once again participated in the contest with the fiercest competition at the CCIR,One Design Beneteau First 40.7 Class(Asiaundefineds largest one design group)after the 11th CCIR in 2017.The BSC had no outside help this time.After a short period of team training,in the tough competition with many other international champion fleets using external professional players,the BSC team finally took the 13th place in the One Design Beneteau First 40.7 Class of the 12th CCIR.
