In a bid to cooperate with the progress of constructions such as“Belt and Road”and“Building China into a Strong Maritime and Transportation Power”and further expand the arbitrator team,China Maritime Arbitration Commission(CMAC),which boasts a history of sixty years,initiated efforts to recruit more arbitrators from April to August this year.Through the preliminary examination,the deliberation of the meeting of Arbitrator Qualification Scrutinizing Committee and the meeting of directors,the recruitment list of arbitrators was finally confirmed after reporting the filing to China Chamber of International Commerce(CCOIC)for record.A total of 195 arbitrators were recruited this time,including 175 arbitrators from Chinese mainland and 20 arbitrators from Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan and foreign countries.They are engaged in the arbitration in aviation,measurement,shipbuilding,logistics,insurance,maritime finance,international trade,constructional engineering and other professional fields.After this recruitment,CMAC has a total of 558 registered arbitrators,which consist of 465 arbitrators from Chinese mainland,25 arbitrators from Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan and 68 arbitrators from foreign countries(new edition of arbitrators list was executed on September 1st,2018).The proportion of personnel and industrial and geographical distribution of new arbitrators team not only meet the needs of the new rules and the case-accepting range of CMAC,but also help the Aviation Dispute Arbitration Center,the Aviation Dispute Mediation Center,CMAC(Zhejiang)Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Center,the Measurement Dispute Arbitration Center and other institutions of CMAC to resolve the diversified disputes.

Lawyer Zhang Zheng,Founding Partner of Gaopeng&Partners is employed as an arbitrator of CMAC in this recruitment.
