European Community initiates an anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of certain iron or steel fasteners originating in the Peopleundefineds Republic of China on 9 November,2007.

The complaint was lodged on 26 September 2007 by the European Industrial Fasteners Institute(EIFI).The product allegedly being dumped is certain iron or steel fasteners,other than of stainless steel,i.e.wood screws(excluding coach screws),self-tapping screws,other screws and bolts with heads(whether or not with their nuts or washers,but excluding screws turned from bars,rods,profiles or wire,of solid section,of shank thickness not exceeding 6 mm and excluding screws and bolts for fixing railway track construction material)and washers,originating in the Peopleundefineds Republic of China(the product concerned),normally declared within CN codes 7318 12 90,7318 14 91,7318 14 99,7318 15 59,7318 15 69,7318 15 81,7318 15 89,7318 15 90,7318 21 00 and 7318 22 00.These CN codes are only given for information.

According to the EU antidumping procedures,all interested party should request claim forms as soon as possible,but not later than 10 days and submit comments on the appropriateness of India as the allegation country must reach the Commission within 10 days of the date of publication of this notice..Duly substantiated claims for market economy treatment and/or for individual treatment must reach the Commission within 15 days of the date of publication of this notice.

The investigation will be concluded within 15 months of the date of the publi-cation of this notice;provisional measures may be imposed no later than 9 months from the publication of this notice.
